Description: The E-Learning Librarian provides leadership in a period of transformative change, playing a key role in integrating library services into the University of Ottawa’s developing e-learning/blended learning strategy. A priority of the position is to increase the Library’s involvement in e-learning environments and instructional technology, especially at the undergraduate level; to that end, the incumbent will work closely with librarian colleagues to develop and support innovative e-learning tools and resources for faculty and students across all disciplines, fostering dynamic and flexible learning environments in the context of the Library’s teaching and learning programs. Building on existing relationships with campus partners, the incumbent will strengthen collaboration and support the effective integration of library resources and services within the learning management system (LMS).
Essential Qualifications:
1. A Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent;
2. Four (4) years of professional experience, or fewer, depending on relevance of experience to the position;
3. Experience in developing e-learning content, working with technologies and tools such as learning management systems, content capture tools and presentation tools; Knowledge of accessibility and universal design principles;
4. Demonstrated ability to work collegially and cooperatively within and across organizational boundaries;
5. Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, presentation and instructional skills;
6. Evidence of ability to provide leadership in program development including successfully implementing new services;
7. Bilingual (English and French), written and spoken, including the ability to teach in both official languages.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
This position is part of the Bargaining Unit (Faculty, Librarians, Counsellors, Language teachers).
