The Centre for Corporate Sustainability in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Sustainable Energy.  

Job Description
The Centre for Corporate Sustainability, in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellow to explore how energy companies engage in planning for sustainable futures.  More specifically, the postdoctoral fellow will explore the different processes and techniques companies use to compare the available and future options for creating sustainable operations and products.  The outcome of this research will be an understanding of current practices, the advantages and disadvantages of these practices and techniques, and the appropriate corporate contexts for using these different approaches.  It is anticipated that the research will be published in academic as well as practitioner oriented journals.  Relevant backgrounds for this research include, but are not limited to, the oil & gas sector, aboriginal engagement, renewable energy, climate change and business strategy.   

The scholar will be expected to engage in full-time research activities, with opportunities for co-authorship of papers stemming from work on sustainable energy and from other projects.   The fellow will also assist in organizing workshops and conferences when requested to do so. 

Qualifications
The successful candidate would have a PhD in business, or a related field.  Applicants will be considered provided they can demonstrate expertise in oil & gas, aboriginal engagement, renewable energy, climate change and business strategy as related to sustainable energy. Experience in multiple areas is an asset.  

Teaching
Should the fellow be interested in them, the Haskayne School of Business (HSB) also offers a variety of guest lecturing, teaching and lecturing opportunities and will arrange such opportunities so as not to interfere with research productivity. Fellows will be able to earn additional income if they choose to teach an undergraduate or MBA course relevant to their background.
