The School of Vocational Business Education offers a broad range of industry relevant, globally oriented training and education, from Foundation Studies to Certificate, Diploma and Associate Degree levels, in Melbourne, interstate and overseas, to approximately 4000 students. Courses are delivered and assessed in a variety of modes and locations including RMIT campuses, workplaces and offshore partner institutions. Programs are offered in fields including marketing, PR, advertising, international business, logistics, financial services, paralegal, accounting, management, administration and information and communication technology.
The role
The School currently seeks a suitable applicant to fill the position of Vocational Education Teacher with professional expertise in the areas of Visual Management or Service Design or Project Management.
Your responsibilities
The role is primarily responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses in the Associate Degree in Business. Participation in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment will also form part of this role. You will interact with external organisations, commercial clients, industry groups and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
Skills & Experience required
As the successful applicant you will have professional or academic experience in applying design capabilities to business solutions. This could be in the field of Service Design, Project Management or Visual Management. Knowledge of current design trends in industry including the use of social media, digital media, measurement/analytics and new communication technologies is important.
You will be committed to innovative and flexible professional training, education and services for industry, and will be able to ensure that teaching and assessment are aligned with contemporary approaches and meet the needs of diverse learners, as well as industry and commercial clients.
A qualification at Bachelor level or above including a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) or equivalent is essential. Expertise in the use of Information and Communication Technology, and an ability to utilise eLearning technology is essential.
