Duties:

Reporting to the Director, University Planning and Analysis, the Senior Research Analyst (SRA) leads the planning, management and delivery of Program Quality and Survey Services within the Office of University Planning and Analysis. The mission of the department is to facilitate informed decision-making by providing timely, relevant information. Specifically, the SRA is responsible for planning and facilitating academic program reviews as well as non-academic departmental reviews, conducting surveys and preparing statistical reports to support the review process, and recommending enhancements to the program review policy and procedure.

The SRA is also responsible for the development of an institutional evaluation framework as well as the university's accountability plan and report. Must work extremely well with students, faculty, and administrators to define information needs, define appropriate data collection methods, and provide advice in a service-oriented manner.

The SRA undertakes independent research projects on a wide range of topics, determines appropriate methodologies, writes and presents reports. Key values include a high level of integrity, ability to innovate, work individually and collaboratively in a team environment, and exercise discretion, as the SRA manages confidential and sensitive information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with minimum three years related experience. Knowledge of research methodologies including quantitative and qualitative analysis and software (e.g. SPSS, NVivo), experience preparing written reports and presentations. Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty, students, and administrators. In-depth knowledge of program evaluation theory, quality assurance processes, as well as principles of project management required to effectively plan and manage multiple activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with the post-secondary education system and experience in an institutional research office or similar experience in a public sector or health-related agency. Knowledge and experience with academic program reviews, as well as related policies and processes. Experience with reporting / business intelligence tools, e.g. Tableau, highly desirable. Post-graduate degree from an recognized institution in a related discipline.
