Vice Dean Faculty Engagement

The College of Medicine is seeking an inspirational senior leader to guide the way towards a renewed inclusive vision for all faculty at the College of Medicine dedicated to education, research, and improving care for the people of Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Dean, the Vice Dean Faculty Engagement is a new senior leadership position in the College of Medicine with responsibility for faculty recruitment, retention, engagement, and career development. As the chief liaison between the College and the medical community, the Vice Dean Faculty Engagement will have unique opportunities for collaboration and partnership with academic faculty as well as physicians within Saskatoon and throughout the province. In directing the work of the Office of Faculty Engagement the Vice Dean will help guide the College through its transition to the Academic Clinical Funding Plan, the One Faculty model, as well as supporting faculty in the Biomedical Sciences and distributed programs.

Our ideal candidate will be a Saskatchewan-based MD with a proven achievement record in leadership and demonstrated success in motivating others toward exemplary performance and outcomes. A high level of proficiency in personal effectiveness and relationship-building competencies will be vital.

This is an internal search open to any faculty member with an MD, a full or part-time appointment in the College of Medicine, and an established leadership record within an academic or professional environment. The Vice Dean role is classified as a full time, out-of-scope administrative position with the expectation that one day per week be used for clinical work and participation in teaching and research.
